Getting started
To complete your hand stitched greetings card you will require:
Place your foam mat or folded towel onto your work surface.
Place onto this your card with the right side facing up, if you are using a double folded card you will be working on the middle section.
Place the pattern onto the card, hold firmly in place and with the needle or hat pin prick each dot penetrating the stitching card pattern and the card. When you have pricked all the dots remove the pattern.
Using a No.10 embroidery needle thread a length of thread about 2/3 feet long. Starting on the underside (wrong side) of the card fix the thread with tape near to your starting point, taking care not to cover any of the holes with the tape.
To begin, pass the needle through from the back of the card to the front, following the pattern instructions. When you come to the end of the thread secure with tape, re-thread the needle and continue.
When complete, if using a double folded card fold the right side of the card under and secure it using the double sided tape or glue around the edge. If using a single piece of card fix with double sided tape or glue onto the card of your choice.
